This area is known as the Cusseta-Chattahoochee County area. In addition to having a locally owned and operated grocery store and Dollar General, that is stock with all the necessities, the school system here does have a daycare center and head start program nand goes all the way through high school level. There is also, a local Health Department, Fire Station and less than 15 minutes from Columbus, 10 Minutes from Ft. Benning, and 5 minute from the Elementary and High Schools. A Library with daily program/activities planned for the entire family, including movie nights. We do have a local courthouse/city annex in the middle of town and bank. This is the same building you will pay your water bill and get your auto tag, without having to stand in long lines. As far as safety is concern, Cusseta is far more safer than nearby Columbus, GA. As for the commute to work in Ft. Benning or Columbus, you will be traveling Highway 27, which actually goes around Ft. Benning, and not through the military base. We do have our own Christmas parades on our main street and everyone comes out for that, and other town events that are planned throughout the year. Oh yeah, there is also, a very well known Red Oak Golf Course and the Ranger Burger Restaurant, Subway and Bojangles, and other good southern cooking and Barbecue spots.
