We have a private, seven-acre hilltop retreat, perched above the Croton Reservoir. We never cease to marvel that this pristine landscape is less than an hour from New York City. NYC is accessible via a pleasant train ride down the Hudson River (45 minutes) or an easy drive straight into Manhattan (45 minutes to the upper west-side). We built our home in 2007 for entertaining and enjoying the surroundings. There are several patios and a large covered porch. Wooded and/or reservoir views can be enjoyed from all outdoor areas, living areas and bedrooms. The best views of course are from the "tower" built for gazing at the treetops, water and mountains beyond.
Our area boarders NYC's water supply which is surrounded by protected land. This is how we can be so close to Manhattan and yet from our house all of the views are
hills sides, treetops and the reservoir.
CROTON HARMON Metro North train station is 10 minutes away. There is ample parking. The express train is 43 minutes to Grand Central. If you prefer to drive we are 5 minutes to the Taconic. I can be at Columbia University in 45 minutes.
